Santorini is a Greek Island in the Aegean Sea that is synonymous with a magnificent setting, bright and sunny weather, delicious cuisine and wine, exciting entertainment and a rich history that dates back to the Bronze Age. Santorini was named by the Venetians in the 13th Century after Saint Irene, but this in one of many names given over time to this island with the cataclysmic history and controversial link to the Atlantis myth.
Now the restaurant Santorini, located at the Pool Deck of the Cascades Hotel at Sun City promises to give you the same as what the island does. The restaurant has a magnificent setting, surrounded by gorgeous blue pools where the weather is always bright and sunny on our beach and pool deck area. This is also the perfect spot to laze in the shade all day with one of our extravagant signature cocktails.
As you will see, our menus will provide you with delicious cuisine and our wine list has some of the best wines.
Talking about the menu; our menu is extensive and will cater to everybody's tastes. It ranges from superb salads to unbelievable desserts, with pastas, pizzas, ribs, chicken, fresh fish, meat cuts and a kiddies menu in between. This promises to be a feast you will not soon forget.
The restaurant is divided into 3 sections, a terrace, an island area and the main restaurant. The terrace and island areas can seat up to 86 people and the main restaurant 140.
The terrace and island areas are outside with umbrella covering. This is also where all the smokers will be seated. The main restaurant is completely covered and also offers a "formal" dining area. The entire main restaurant area is non-smoking and is the perfect setting for larger groups.
Extra features to the restaurant includes a live pizza station with a classical wood burning oven in which all our pizzas will be baked but also in which the Kleftiko will be done in the traditional Greek way.
Santorini strives to give you a Mediterranean experience which you won't be able to find anywhere else, at a decent price, but with awesome service!
George Sakulias, the General Manager of Santorini has a wealth of experience in the industry. With over 20 years of restaurant experience, George brings a fresh dimension to this very busy and popular restaurant. Formally trained as a chef, George is also available to assist you in choosing the right wine to compliment your meal. Passion and enhancing the guest's experience is George's secret to success. Together with Mbeki Zungu and the team they go the extra mile to make sure that you feel at home and not want to leave in a hurry.
Over the last 3 years, Santorini has received several awards. Apart from being named Concessionaire of the Year on two occasions, they also received a Gold Award in the yearly Winelist of the Year Competition held by Diners Club.
The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has also bestowed the Blazon to the restaurant. Santorini is the only restaurant in the North West Province to have received such an award. The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an international gastronomic society dedicated to bringing together professional and non-professional members from around the world who appreciate wine, cuisine and fine dining. George is also the Bailli of the Pretoria Bailliage.
